I think your character successfully hits for 1d6+STR+Studied Combat bonus, and then trades the studied combat bonus for an additional Xd6 on that same attack.Your studied combat doesn't end until after you have dealt studied strike damage. You don't have to apply your studied strike until you want to.it gives you attack and damage, and you can get a bit more burst to that damage by using studied strike, gaining the benefits of the extra d6s and having stupided combat end.do note, that you can restart it afterwards on the same guy if he is still alive, but it will cost you inspiration points to do so.Came across this thread while searching for an answer to what is probably a dumb question.
