On the night of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's Attack, Izumi became separated from her parents. Well, to answer that, we have to know the full story. It is revealed in part one that Itachi murders the entire Uchiha clan, sparing only Sasuke, making the latter hate him and wanting to kill his older brother who he once looked up to.
Izumi was an innocent girl, her only sin was her surname. Considering the circumstances that the shinobis lived in, ‘killing a few to save many’ seemed like a plausible logic. When a peaceful resolution between the Uchiha and Konoha cannot be reached, Itachi is forced to kill his clan; including the woman who loves him. After this, Izumi starts to admire Itachi and becomes infatuated with him. His suspicion of the Uchiha clan was so high that he even stole Shisui’s eye, to prevent him from using his Mangekyou Sharingan to stop the coup d’etat without any bloodshed.So as the peace talks failed, and Shisui committed suicide so that Danzo couldn’t take his other eye, Itachi became truly alone not knowing what to do and whom to trust. “I don’t know.” The other responds.Avoiding suspicion, he quickly ducks into the hallway, entering the room from the side.
